Small Fry

Trash as sculpture. It’s not like it hasn’t been done before, but this did not ruin its personal novelty to me. I could say that this piece explores the aesthetics of consumerism, waste and excess, but it really wasn’t that deep. I can’t say for certain what made me put that bag in that half cup nor what kept me from throwing it away. But a friend once said to me, “small fry?” And since then it has become an art object in my eyes. This is Small Fry’s origin - I hope the viewer has been amused.
